IMPACTING YOUR WORLD

ARE YOU MAKING AN IMPACT IN THE WORLD THAT YOU LIVE IN?

Why is this question so important? Because nobody has a greater investment in us than God Himself and God is very serious about His investment in you and in me. You and I are called to be "Impact People." We are called to make an impact in the lives of those all around us no matter where we are and no matter where we live. Our lives are an open book for every one to read.
So now the big question is how do we impact the people around us in a positive way? If we follow the principles found in the Word of God, we will become impact people for God's Kingdom far beyond what we could ever imagine.

1) We must always keep a right spirit about us
You and I are constantly on show. That means that people are watching us. We must understand that the people who don't know Jesus as Lord and Savior are looking at us to see how we act and react in every circumstance that we face. So we must constantly guard our hearts and not allow any root of bitterness to develop in our hearts even when the people around us or life itself treats us unfairly. We impact others by what we say and do or by what we don't say or do. In the Bible we find a great example in David in the cave of Adullam (I Sam.22:1-2). He had every right to be resentful and when he was joined by a group who became his mighty men, he could have griped and complained, but David made a firm decision to keep a right spirit about him. David's Christ like nature, character and conduct literally changed these men's lives forever and made him fit to be a stronger leader.

2) We must have a consistency and conviction that does not shift or change
Whether we realize it or not, the way that we live our lives leaves an ever lasting impression on the people around us. We must not portray ourselves to be one thing and then show ourselves to be something else. We must be men and women that live by the principles of Gods Word, and not by our own fleshly impulses! We must stand for what is right, good and wholesome and living by God's standards and not by what we think, feel or see. What we do should match what we say. In other words, not presenting one set of rules and living by another. People want to see that we are real and that Gods Word is real in us and that we don't have any hidden agendas or ulterior motives and that our hearts are pure. To impact the people around us, we must place the Word of God in your heart and speak it with your mouth and then live it with great consistency.

3) We must be a Lover of God and His Ways
To make an impact in the world that we live in, we must be a people that are "growing in the knowledge and the wisdom of God and His Word." As long as you and I are satisfied with the way things are in our lives, we will never change anything. We should never be content with the level of our relationship with God, but we should desire a deeper and a more intimate relationship with Him. The more we know God (getting wisdom and understanding of Him and His ways), the deeper our love for Him becomes. This understanding comes by discovering Him through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and through the Word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. If the Word of God is not in our hearts, it won't come out of our mouths and our impact on the lives of the people around us will be minimal. When you love God more, you want to talk about Him to every one. You might say to yourself, "How can I have any impact on the people around me, I feel so inadequate and unqualified to share or witness about Him or speak for Him." Remember, none of us were born qualified; we become qualified by receiving Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. I make this statement quite often, the more in love with Jesus that you are, the more of your life you'll give away!

4) We must allow God's Love to Shine Through Us
The Bible says in (John 15:8) - "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." God wants each one of us to be fruitful in the lives that we live. He has blessed us in so many ways, why you may ask? So that you and I would become mighty men and women of God, impacting the world that we live in and blessing every one we meet. For God to minister His love through us to the people around us we must be accessible to them. In other words, we must be obedient to God's Word in our life and let His love shine through us. Paul said in (II Cor. 6:2), "Now is the time of God's favour". Paul was convinced that NOW (today) is the day of salvation. As we examine the life of Paul we can easily see that he gave his all to impact the world that he lived in for the Kingdom of God. It is our responsibility to tell others about Jesus, and there will be times that we will not even have to say anything, but just by living a God-centered life will impact the people and the world that we live in. We must realize that our life is being observed by people all around us and by God himself. We must constantly guard our heart and keep watch over our lives because we have no idea who might be watching our life today. Remember that God will never lead you outside of His Word!!! Hey, Joyce and I love you, we believe in you and we call you blessed today.
